Ashley N. Higginson is an associate in the Firm's Governmental Affairs, Real Estate and School Law Groups.   Ashley counsels clients on regulatory, administrative, and litigation matters.  Her practice includes representation of school districts, as well as land use and development for both developers and municipalities.   Some examples of her work include:  providing assistance to the General Counsel of the largest school district in the state, including employment and personnel, labor negotiation, real estate and contracting matters; handling land use applications for site plans, signage, use variances and other variances, as well as prerogative writ actions; and assisting with litigation in the Court of Claims against federal agencies with respect to disputes pursuant to the Contract Disputes Act.

Ashley serves on the Young Professional Board for Covenant House, New Jersey and the Board of Directors for AthleteBiz.  Ashley professionally trained and competed as a track athlete while pursuing her law degree at Rutgers Law School.   She was a member of the U.S. Team at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, and won a gold medal in the steeplechase at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and North and Central American Games in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Ashley earned her J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School, cum laude, and her bachelor's degree from Princeton University.  While studying at Rutgers Law School, she was the Business editor of the Rutgers Race and the Law Journal.
