Michael Trentin is an associate in the Firm’s Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group.  He has worked on several bankruptcy matters representing debtors, creditors’ committees and other secured and unsecured creditors. Before joining the Firm, Michael served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Rosemary Gambardella in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.  Michael recently co-published an article in the Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice titled “A Look Inside ‘Insider’ Status: An argument for a Multi-Factor Test to Identify ‘Non-Statutory Insiders,’” 27 N. 6 J. Bankr. L & Prac. NJ Art. 1.

In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Michael has considerable civil litigation experience, having represented clients in both the federal and state courts. Prior to his bankruptcy court clerkship, he served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Gary J. Furnari in the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Law Division.

Michael received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2015, where he served as Digital Executive Editor of the Seton Hall Circuit Review.  At Seton Hall, he was the recipient of the Honorable Raymond T. Lyons Bankruptcy Award and Heyman Fellowship Award.   He graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a B.A. in English and Communications.
