Environmental Attorney Matthew Karmel Quoted Re Organics Recycling in NJ
Environmental associate Matthew A. Karmel was quoted in WasteDive’s article “New Jersey Assembly passes organics diversion mandate without landfill exemption” on December 19, 2019. The article discusses a bill requiring large-scale generators to separate organics if they are within 25 miles of a recycling facility. Matt noted that this bill would provide “much needed support to the organics recycling industry in New Jersey.” He explained that the expansion of food waste recycling that would result from the passage of A3726 would present a “significant environmental, social and economic opportunity” for the state.
