Environmental Counsel Laurie J. Sands recently authored the article “NJ Offshore Wind Ports: Challenges and Opportunities,” which was published by Law360 on April 15, 2021. The article discusses New Jersey’s offshore wind energy goal and the challenges and opportunities that will be faced in order to meet this goal, such as funding opportunities, logistical and regulatory concerns, Jones Act requirements, environmental justice concerns and opportunities for overburdened communities. Laurie notes, “New Jersey is starting to take the necessary steps to meet these challenges, and appropriately promote port facilities in the state.”
