NJ Appellate Division Affirms Dismissal of Attorney Malpractice Suit Against Client

April 16, 2019

The New Jersey Appellate Division recently affirmed the Superior Court, Union County’s dismissal of a malpractice suit against Oxfeld Cohen PC, represented by Riker Danzig.   Adrian Romero, a Morris County Prosecutor’s Office investigator fired over a drug-related incident, had sued Oxfeld Cohen in June 2014 for failure to secure disability retirement benefits.  The lower court ruled in the firm’s favor on the relevant claims in the case in February 2017.  In April 2019, the New Jersey Appellate Division affirmed the decision, finding Romero’s expert’s testimony was not supported by factual evidence.  Firm Co-Managing Partner Lance J. Kalik and Counsel Anne M. Mohan defended Oxfeld Cohen in this matter.
