NJ Cannabis Media published “Lessons to Learn for Applicants for Next Round of Licenses” in its November 12, 2018 issue, covering the discussion at the recent NJ Cannabis Summit.
Riker Danzig partner Zahid N. Quraishi, a member of our Cannabis Law and White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations Groups, spoke at the Summit on the application process. The article noted that Za advised potential applicants to closely study Part A and Part B from the last round and do the legwork in advance. He also stressed the importance of establishing roots in the community where a business intends to locate. “The Department of Health is not looking to give a license to you because you have a letter of support from the mayor or the council . . . ,” Za said.
