The Firm was honored with a “Champion of Good Works” award by the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey at its “Companies That Care” reception last week.  The awards program honored philanthropic companies that help “make New Jersey a great place to live, work and raise a family.”  Riker was selected for the award based on our support of the Paterson Music Project.

The Paterson Music Project (PMP) provides high quality instrumental musical education for over 300 Paterson students in grades 1 - 8 after school and on Saturdays.  This program empowers and inspires children through the experience of ensemble learning and playing, and was featured in a 2015 Telly Award-winning documentary.  The Firm sponsored PMP’s inaugural 5K fundraising walk, at which Sam Moulthrop organized a team of attorneys and staff and staffed a table with giveaways for participants.

Sam accepted the award on behalf of Riker, which is now on display in the Firm’s awards cabinet in the 11th floor reception area, near our 2016 “Champion of Good Works” award.
