The New Jersey Hospital Association held a skills-building seminar for clinical professionals on September 30, 2015. Geared towards clinical professionals, the session offered a unique opportunity for clinicians to develop the tools required to successfully advocate on behalf of their healthcare facilities in Trenton on state policy issues.
Riker Danzig Partner and member of the Healthcare Administration Board, Mary Kay Roberts, guided attendees through the regulatory process in New Jersey. Additional speakers included Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz (R-Summit) and Assemblyman Adam Taliaferro (D-Woolwich Township) who advised participants on how to effectively lobby a legislator. Catherine Hughes, vice president for nursing integration and outcomes at Virtua, also attended to teach colleagues how to craft and deliver expert testimony.
