Justice Stewart Pollock to Assist in Search for New State Police Superintendent

October 24, 2002 - Riker Danzig is pleased to announce that of counsel Stewart Pollock has been appointed to Governor James E. McGreevey's ten-member search committee for the purpose of selecting a new Superintendent for the New Jersey State Police.

"I am grateful to each member of the committee who has agreed to assist me in searching to identify the strongest and most capable candidate to serve as the Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police," the Governor said. "With the hard work of each committee member, this State will identify a Superintendent by January 15, 2003."

Stewart G. Pollock formerly served as a New Jersey State Supreme Court Justice for almost twenty years and as Chief Counsel to Governor Brendan Byrne. Justice Pollock is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Law Center Foundation at NYU and chairs the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Rules of Professional Conduct.

The other committee members are former Governor Brendan T. Byrne; Ida L. Castro, Commissioner of the N.J. Department of Personnel; James M. Davy, Chief of Management and Operations for Governor McGreevey; former NJ Attorney General W. Cary Edwards; former FBI director Louis Freeh; former Riker Danzig partner Peter C. Harvey , First Assistant Attorney General of New Jersey and Director of the Division of Criminal Justice; Rev. Dr. Moses William Howard; pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Newark; David Samson, NJ Attorney General; and Monsignor Robert Sheeran, President of Seton Hall University.
