Partner Stuart Lederman Quoted in Star-Ledger Re Eminent Domain Case in Atlantic City

November 21, 2018

In the October 26, 2018 Star-Ledger story “In AC property grab, this David has a Goliath that once beat Trump,” coverage was provided of a case currently before the Appellate Division involving our client, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.  Riker Danzig partner Stuart M. Lederman’s argument before the Appellate Division was noted, in which he stated that the issue was one of separation of powers.  He also noted that New Jersey State law permits the CRDA to assemble properties for development, even if those properties are not blighted or if there is no immediate use.  Stuart also suggested in his comments to the Court that the influx of sports betting and the opening of the Ocean Resort Casino form a platform for development.

Stuart regularly handles eminent domain cases in his Litigation and Governmental Affairs practices.  He has a significant practice advising government agencies in day-to-day operations, and representing them in disputes that arise.
