The Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program (“TVC”), a Washington D.C.-based non-profit assisting veterans with their appeals before the Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims, selected Riker Danzig associate Joshua Carmel as the June Volunteer Inspiring Pro Bono (“VIP”). Each month the TVC recognizes a VIP, who is singled out for the exceptional work they did on behalf of the veterans that month. On the TVC feature story this month, Josh explains what inspired him to take his first case for the TVC and what continues to drive his passion for pro bono work. Josh notes Riker Danzig has a strong pro bono track record which allows him to “work as an associate in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group and serve pro bono clients too.” Click here for the full article.
In addition, the TVC sponsored the Verizon’s Veterans’ Reboot Lunch and Learn in Basking Ridge on June 20, 2018, providing training for Verizon’s younger corporate counsel and for associates to learn about the TVC and about general practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans’ Claims (“CAVC”). Josh spoke at the event, discussing his experience with the TVC program, including training and representation at the CAVC, the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and the regional office levels.
