Riker Danzig Attorneys Speak on IP at January ACG Meeting

December 15, 2020

Three Riker Danzig attorneys will be presenting on “Intellectual Property: What is It, and How Should Business Owners Protect It?”  to the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) on January 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM.  Partner Jason Navarino, chair of the Firm’s Corporate and Tax Practices, Steven Pagano, chair of the Firm’s Trusts & Estates Practice, and Wendi Opper Uzar, Counsel in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, will address how intellectual property applies to businesses, and how businesses can strategically build and protect an intellectual property portfolio.

During the virtual presentation, they will discuss:

  • The various categories of IP a company should consider protecting, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Steps to be taken to protect IP and avoid infringement, particularly in the context of a closely-held business.
  • IP in the context of M&A and other corporate transactions: What should a buyer or licensee look for during due diligence and in purchase/license agreements? What are the related tax issues to consider?

For more information or to register for the meeting, go to IP at ACG.

For a copy of the presentation materials for this event, please contact Jason Navarino, Wendi Opper Uzar or Stephen Pagano.
