Stuart Lederman Appointed to NJSBA Task Force

October 31, 2016

Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti LLP is pleased to announce that governmental affairs and litigation partner Stuart M. Lederman has been appointed to the Pipeline Diversity Task Force of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

The Pipeline Diversity Task Force is charged with identifying opportunities to educate minority children about the legal profession and supports projects that develop an increase in minority applications to colleges and law schools. In the last year, the Task Force instituted the "Street Law" program, which seeks to encourage "knowledge of legal rights and responsibilities, to stimulate engagement in the democratic process and to nurture an interest in a career in the law among inner-city teens." The program has brought law students from all three New Jersey law schools to high school classrooms and youth detention centers to teach constitutional law and other timely legal issues.

Stuart M. Lederman, of Madison, concentrates his practice in eminent domain law, construction, real estate and civil litigation. He also represents public authorities and engineering firms, and handles employment and healthcare matters. He has a significant professional-liability practice, defending architects and engineers and advising lawyers on ethics matters. Mr. Lederman is Second Vice President of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation and a board member of Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey. He earned his law degree from Emory University in 1985 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in 1982.
