Mark S. Rattner was a Partner with the Firm for over 20 years and is now Of Counsel and continues to be a leader in the Financial Institutions Group.
Commercial finance transactions are complex affairs, and that is why financial institutions in New Jersey often turn to Mark. New Jersey lenders know that he not only provides the kind of attention to detail that their matters require; they also know about his reputation as a lawyer who gives full attention to any transaction he is handling. Mark is known as a lawyer who takes ownership of the deal.
Mark handles all aspects of commercial lending transactions, including working-capital loans, mortgages, construction loans, letters of credit and asset-based transactions. He also has significant expertise, developed during the economic downturn of the early 1990s, in restructuring troubled loans and financings. His clients include such top financial institutions as Wells Fargo, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, and Merrill Lynch.
Mark has had a hand in some of New Jersey’s most important construction projects and business deals. He has been involved in the transactions that have resulted in the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, the construction of the luxury boxes in Giants Stadium, and the purchase of the New Jersey Devils.
Before joining the Firm, Mark served as Law Secretary to Justice Worrall Mountain of the New Jersey Supreme Court (1976-1977) and thereafter as Deputy Attorney General, representing the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance and the New Jersey Division of Taxation (1977-1981).
