Previously Mr. Lederman served as first vice-president and held other offices, as well as serving as a trustee of the Foundation.

Following a long-standing tradition in the Firm of serving the community, Mr. Lederman is the second Riker Danzig partner to serve as President of the Foundation: name partner Charles Danzig was the Foundation’s second president, serving in the early 1970’s.

He is also chair of the Foundation’s Program Development Committee, a member of the editorial board of The Legal Eagle, the Foundation’s legal newspaper for kids, and the author of Educational Guide of Trial Jurors, which is published by the Foundation. Previously, Mr. Lederman chaired the Foundation’s Fellowship Committee.

In addition, Mr. Lederman is a member of the Forever Vital Capital Campaign Committee for the New Jersey Law Center and has been instrumental in its fundraising efforts. He serves on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Character and is the former chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court’s District X Ethics Committee. A trustee of the Pingry School, he is alumni co-chair of the Pingry School’s Annual Fund and received the Nelson Carr Award from Pingry’s alumni association for service to the school. He is also a Trustee of Temple Sinai in Summit.

Mr. Lederman is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Emory University School of Law, where he received the Moffet-Henderson Litigation Award and was an instructor with the Law Trial Techniques Program. He frequently lectures to teachers and architects on the law.

Founded in 1958, the New Jersey State Bar Foundation is the educational and philanthropic arm of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Among its activities, the Foundation conducts seminars and conflict resolution training, publishes materials, operates a videotape loan library and speakers bureau, and coordinates elementary, middle and high school mock trial competitions.
