Teresa Moore Tapped to Discuss NJ’s School Vaccine Mandate
School Law Counsel Teresa L. Moore was tapped by Law360 Pulse to provide insight into New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s new vaccine/weekly COVID-19 testing mandate for school employees and whether the executive order affects lawyers working with school districts. In the article, “How NJ’s School Vaccine Mandate Will Affect Attorneys,” Teresa noted that since most of the state’s districts do not have in-house counsel, she does not believe the new mandate will have an impact on the majority of the state’s school board attorneys. “Most of us are outside counsel to the school districts that we represent, so we don't have offices at the schools," Teresa said. "I don't consider myself subject to that executive order unless I go to a school, and then I'd wear a mask." She added, "There are, though, some school board lawyers who are employees of their school districts, or they at least have offices there. For example, some of the larger school districts have legal departments, and they're on site and would be treated as any other office in the school district, I would think."
