We are heartbroken to inform you that our associate, colleague and friend, Matt Lewis, passed away on August 28, 2017. Matt has been a vital part of our Litigation and Real Estate groups since joining the firm 18 years ago. Among Matt’s notable work was his convincing argument before the New Jersey Supreme Court in April of 2016, which was a deciding factor in the Firm’s victory in the Rosenthal v. Benun case.
Matt also excelled prior to joining Riker Danzig, graduating magna cum laude from Amherst and then earning his master’s degree with distinction from Rutgers before heading to NYU to earn his law degree. He brought that same indefatigable mindset to his legal work, starting in our Insurance Group, and tackling complex cases through the years. Matt’s work ethic, good humor and positive attitude will continue to be an inspiration and example to us all. The relentless courage and strength of character that Matt showed us over the past years was truly humbling. He was one of the strongest people we have been blessed to know. He will be greatly missed.
