Allen Scazafabo, Jr., a partner in the Firm’s Family Law Group, was quoted in the New Jersey Business article entitled “Attorneys Have New Tools to Navigate Divorce,” featured in the magazine’s August issue. In the article, Allen discusses the new federal tax code, and how eliminating the alimony deduction may cause an increase in clients looking to revisit the alimony amount when the paying spouse makes more money post-divorce. “Now, with the tax situation, each time the payer makes more money, there would be more frequency in spouses going back to court to revisit that alimony position.” He also addresses the lack of effect on bankruptcy on alimony and child support.
