James B. Daniels is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Group, resident in the New York office.
Jim represents major corporations and closely-held businesses in complex commercial litigation, computer law, and toxic tort and products liability matters. He regularly litigates matters in both state and federal courts, including complex matters involving breach of contracts, minority shareholder rights suits, business dissolution disputes, sophisticated technology disputes, and employment-related disputes.
Jim also represents clients in arbitrations before various panels, including the International Center for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.
Clients who rely on him for counsel include major financial institutions, investment companies. and private equity firms in a wide array of commercial and creditors’ rights matters, as well as real estate entities in cases involving distressed loan portfolios. Jim also represents title insurance companies, frequently defending against real estate title claim claims involving priority disputes, construction law and lien law claims, among other issues.
In addition, he is an experienced white collar criminal defense attorney. His experience includes the defense of individual and corporate entities charged with criminal offenses, including Medicaid and insurance fraud, commercial bribery, and antitrust violations.
Before entering private practice, Jim served as Assistant Deputy Public Defender with the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, writing and arguing numerous appeals before both the Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court. He was previously a Partner at Budd Larner, P.C.
