David Grobow Hahn, Counsel in the Firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Practice, brings extensive in-house insurance experience and deep coverage expertise to complex litigation matters, providing clients with practical insights gained from years of managing high-stakes coverage disputes from the carrier’s perspective. David’s practice focuses on insurance coverage litigation, bad faith and extra-contractual damages claims, and strategic coverage counsel across all lines of insurance. He regularly handles complex commercial general liability, commercial property, inland marine, workers’ compensation, and specialty lines coverage matters for domestic and international insurers.
David has successfully defended insurers in numerous high-profile matters, including managing and testifying at trial in federal court proceedings involving seven-figure bad faith exposures, where he achieved dismissals of bad faith and extra-contractual claims. He has extensive experience in construction defect coverage matters, additional insurance disputes, and commercial property claims involving complex coverage issues.
Prior to joining Riker Danzig, David served as Senior Coverage Counsel at AmTrust and held senior positions at Selective Insurance Company, where he managed nationwide coverage and bad faith litigation and provided strategic coverage advice.
