Riker Danzig Summer Associate Excels in U.S. Steeplechase Championship

Congratulations to Riker Danzig summer associate Ashley Higginson, who finished second in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the U.S. Track and Field National Outdoor Championships in Sacramento on June 28th.  Ashley also set a personal best of 9:27.59.  Previously, Ashley competed in the 2008 World Junior Championships in the 5000 meters, and she placed fourth at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 3000 meter steeplechase, narrowly missing a spot on the Olympic team at the London games.  In addition, she qualified for the 2013 World Championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase by placing second at that year’s U.S. Outdoor Championships with a time of 9:46.25.  She competed for the U.S. at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, finishing in a time of 9:45.78 and placing eleventh in her heat and nineteenth overall.
