Riker Danzig is proud to once again have been the title sponsor of the Riker Danzig Newport 10,000, which took place on Saturday, May 11th at 8:30 a.m. in Newport, on the Jersey City Hudson River waterfront. Newport, a client of the firm, is a 600-acre waterfront "live, work, shop and dine" community situated opposite lower Manhattan.
Over 1,354 runners ran the course on Saturday, including nearly 100 on The Riker Danzig team.
For the seventh year, the Riker Danzig Newport 10K is the USATF-NJ Men's and Women's 10K Championship Race. The Riker Danzig Newport 10K, "the fastest course in the tri-state area," has become one of the elite races of the Northeast, providing a unique urban setting for both recreational and elite professional runners. The course, described as "flat and fast," interweaves along the Hudson County Waterfront Walkway with spectacular views of the New York skyline, attracting both American and International runners. Runners receive a cash prize pool totaling $15,000. Proceeds from the event benefit the Jersey City Medical Center.
