Riker Danzig is proud to offer our warmest congratulations to our former partner, Anne Patterson, on her swearing-in as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey. Following her nomination by Governor Chris Christie and unanimous confirmation by the State Senate, Justice Patterson was sworn in by Chief Justice Stuart Rabner on September 8th at Memorial Hall in Trenton.

In her 27 years with Riker Danzig, Justice Patterson had an active practice in Products Liability and Commercial Litigation work, regularly appearing in trial and appellate courts at both the State and federal levels. She was presented with a Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law in 2007, based on exceptional character, competence and commitment to the highest professional standards.

While in private practice, Justice Patterson served as Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Product Liability and Toxic Tort Section, Secretary of the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey, Trustee of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, Chair of the New Jersey Defense Association Product Liability Committee, and she was named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation in 2011.

Justice Patterson formerly served as a special assistant to the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Jersey.

A magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Justice Patterson went on to earn her law degree from Cornell Law School.
