Family Law Partner Allen Scazafabo was quoted extensively in the NJBIZ article "Vaccine Anxiety," which discussed the effect in family court of the FDA’s approval of COVID shots for children. In the article, Allen suggests that the move opens the door for legal matters in family court between parents with ideological differences regarding the vaccine. "[t]hose differences become fertile ground for rally cries. The level of care is heightened," Allen said.
Allen predicts that when the courts decide on whether a child should be vaccinated or not, the court’s decision-making "will evolve in lock step with the decisions being made in the mainstream world." Allen said, "Generally, courts look at reasonableness and unreasonableness. It doesn’t mean your opinion is wrong, it’s looking at the reasonable standard."
