Riker Danzig is proud to announce that our partner, Anne Patterson, has been nominated to the Supreme Court of New Jersey by Governor Chris Christie.
"It is difficult to identify a more qualified candidate than Anne," said Riker Danzig's managing partner, Glenn Clark. "Anne will continue Riker’s rich tradition of sending its partners to public service and the judiciary in particular. Anne also follows our former partner Marie Garibaldi, who was the first woman member of the Court. Anne’s appointment is truly the State's gain and Riker’s loss."
Anne has been a key partner in Riker Danzig's Products Liability and Toxic Torts Practice, and is chair of the New Jersey Defense Association Product Liability Committee. She formerly served as a special assistant to the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the State of New Jersey when name partner Peter Perretti served as Attorney General for the State of New Jersey.
In making the announcement on May 3rd, Gov. Christie said, "In Anne Patterson, I believe we have a future associate justice who understands at a principled level what it means to be a member of a co-equal branch of government, with its powers and its limitations. I also see in her the high level of legal intellect, character and compassion that I will require of any nomination I have the privilege to make to our highest court.”
