Michael O’Donnell, Co-Managing Partner of the Firm and American Land Title Association’s (ALTA) Title Counsel Committee member, was mentioned in the “Case Law Year in Review” special report by The Legal Description. Cheryl Cowherd, senior underwriting counsel for Agents National Title Insurance Co. and also an ALTA Title Counsel Committee member, credited Mike with bringing Northeast Savings Bank v. Fidelity National Title to the discussion. Mike and his group had written an article about the case. The case featured a misappropriation of funds by the agent, which Ms. Cowherd believes to be an upcoming trend and that “all states will have closing protection letter statutes.”
