Riker Danzig was pleased to host our annual CLE Day for our in-house counsel clients and friends at our new headquarters at Giralda Farms on November 18, 2025.
Our first session on “AI in the Practice of Law” was led by partners Wendi Opper Uzar and Robert Vacchiano, addressing ethical issues and providing practical tips related to the use of AI in law practices.
Robert was then joined by partners Stuart Lederman and Alexa Richman-LaLonde to explore “Ethics Considerations for Corporate Counsel,” focusing on the Rules of Professional Conduct as they pertain to in-house counsel, as well as how AI is now a factor.
Our final session was a panel discussion on “Navigating DEI Issues” in the current shifting landscape. Riker Danzig Diversity Committee Co-Chair Jorge Sanchez led a dynamic conversation with Clifford Dawkins, Assistant Dean and Director of the Minority Student Program of Rutgers Law School; Janeen Y. Houston, CCDP, Enterprise Engagement & Inclusion Manager of PSEG; and Rippi Karda, Associate General Counsel of Verizon and Chair of the AAPI Commission. Our panelists discussed new frameworks for DEI initiatives with a focus on “belonging,” demonstrating value and results, addressing attrition and retaining talent, the role of employee resource groups, and much, much more in a wide-ranging and thought-provoking dialogue that continued into our Open House following the session.
