Riker Danzig sadly notes the passing of our beloved colleague and good friend John Kohler, who passed away on August 30, 2023. John had served as a Senior Governmental Affairs Agent for Riker Danzig since 2001.
Respected for his passionate advocacy and fierce determination, John enjoyed a brilliant career in various State government roles before joining Riker Danzig. He served as a public policy and research professional in the New Jersey Governor’s Office, the Legislature and several executive departments. Among his key roles were Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Christine Todd Whitman, Chief of Staff of the Department of Health, and Executive Director of the Assembly Republican Office.
In a tribute to John published in the New Jersey Globe, Gov. Whitman said, “John was a wonderful man, and a consummate public servant. He did everything with dignity and humility, and served the state of New Jersey incredibly well,” said Whitman. “He was a humble person, yet he did extraordinary work. John was a great friend to so many, with a contagious zest for life. We count ourselves fortunate to have worked with him, and will miss him greatly.
