In “Golden opportunity for Gilded Age relic? Morris Township to weigh posh proposal for the Abbey,” the redevelopment proposal for client Restoration Hardware to transform the Morris Township gem, The Abbey, into a showroom, restaurant, and wine bar is discussed. A planning board meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 6, 2020, along with a special session of the Township Committee on April 29, 2020.
The project is eagerly welcomed by many in the community who long to preserve and find a new use for the historic building, once home to AT&T director Edward Meany at the turn of the 20th Century. Read more here.
