Riker Danzig is pleased to welcome Elda Beylerian Feldman as counsel in the Firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group, where she will focus on reinsurance and insurance related matters. Ms. Feldman has extensive experience in insurance and reinsurance litigation and arbitration. As in-house counsel for a reinsurance company and most recently for an insurance company, Ms. Feldman handled reinsurance disputes, provided advice to the underwriting and claims departments, addressed broker related matters, conducted due diligence, reviewed wordings and negotiated agreements.
Ms. Feldman has also counseled domestic and international clients, including the London market, on insurance regulatory compliance in the United States and insurance related legislation. Ms. Feldman has experience in the admitted and surplus lines market. She has represented insurers before insurance regulators in connection with regulatory compliance matters, licensing issues and corporate transactions.
In addition to her insurance and reinsurance experience, from 1996 to 1997 Ms. Feldman worked with the American Bar Association Central and East European Law Initiative to found and establish their Rule of Law Office in Yerevan, Armenia, to help form the first independent Association of Judges of the Republic of Armenia and to provide legal assistance to the Armenian Parliament.
Ms. Feldman received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Yale University and was the recipient of the B. Edward Bensinger III Prize. She received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law – Newark, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter and the recipient of the Carol Russ Memorial Prize. Ms. Feldman also clerked for the Honorable Geoffrey Gaulkin, former judge of the N.J. Appellate Division in Jersey City, N.J.
