The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey recently announced that partner Tara J. Schellhorn has been named Chair of the inaugural Chapter 11 Local Rules Committee. The Committee was established to review and recommend changes to the existing procedures and rules for Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases in the District. Tara also serves as the Vice Chair of the Lawyers Advisory Committee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey, which serves as a two-way conduit between the bankruptcy bar and the Board of Bankruptcy Judges in New Jersey.
Tara holds leadership positions in various bankruptcy and insolvency organizations including serving as Finance Director of the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), a Board of Advisors for the IWIRC New Jersey Network, Communications Manager for the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Emerging Tech Committee and a member of the planning committee for the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey’s William H. Gindin Bench Bar Conference.
