Riker Danzig Receives Champion of Good Works Award
March 26, 2019
The Firm is proud to have been honored as a “Champion of Good Works” this week at the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey’s “Companies That Care” gala reception. CIANJ President Anthony Russo said, “These caring companies embody the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey’s mission to make the Garden State a better place to live, work and raise a family.”
Riker Danzig and the other honorees were selected by a blue-ribbon panel of judges. Riker was selected specifically in connection with our pro bono work for Planting Seeds of Hope (PSH), a Newark non-profit focusing on urban agriculture and food justice. Steven T. Senior and Matthew A. Karmel helped to propose regulatory amendments that would reduce permitting requirements for small-scale composting activities at community gardens, and are working with the State on a pilot program to demonstrate the benefits of expanded composting activities at community gardens. Matt accepted the award on behalf of Riker, which has also received “Champion of Good Works” awards in 2018 and 2016.
