Bio

Allen J. Scazafabo, Jr., is a Partner in the Firm’s Family Law Group.

Allen has over 20 years of family law and litigation experience, and his work has included complex civil matters requiring multiple experts and examination of expert witnesses. He has handled numerous complex matters involving disputes over the distribution and valuation of assets and custody disputes.

He is also a frequent author and speaker on family law topics. He has been a panelist for the New Jersey State Bar Association’s continuing legal education program and has served as a Master for the Barry Croland Family Law Inn of Court. He has spoken before the Essex County Family Law Executive Committee for the Essex County Bar Association. Allen has also been a panelist/speaker for the Essex County Bar Association’s continuing education program on family law topics, and he was appointed to the Essex County Family Part Non-Dissolution Planning Committee by the Essex County Family Part Presiding Judge. Allen has been quoted on various subjects in the area of family law in the New Jersey Law Journal, New Jersey Business Magazine and New Jersey Monthly.

Allen’s clients appreciate that he recognizes that each client’s needs and goals require individualized care and attention. Following a survey of readers, the publication New Jersey Family noted that Allen has “a gift for empathizing with his clients while dissecting relevant facts to approach a case,” adding, “he gives realistic solutions to problems.” The publication also noted, “Allen treats his clients like family, which is the crux of what most clients need when dealing with difficult family dynamics.”

Allen is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney and an R.1:40 Mediator for post-Early Settlement Panel economic mediation. He was selected to serve on the Family Law Executive Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019.

Allen received his J.D. from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Terrence R. Nealon in the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas.

Allen has been named to the Advisory Board for the American Academy for Financial Litigators for 2020.
