Client Restoration Hardware Gets Green Light for The Abbey Redevelopment Plan

On September 24, 2020, the Morris Township Committee approved a redevelopment plan that will save and restore the Abbey, an iconic, historic building in our region, and allow Riker Danzig client Restoration Hardware to build a two-story showroom, outdoor furniture gallery, wine bar and restaurant on the site. Restoration Hardware will preserve and revive the Abbey’s historic façade, great hall, library, dining room, and drawing rooms. The site has been vacant since 2008, with the prospect of a condo development as the most frequently-discussed option for the property. Preservation of the historic character of the site is a centerpiece of Restoration Hardware’s plan. Planning firm Topology and traffic consultant Stonefield Engineering are part of the RH team.
