Bio
Dennis J. O’Grady is Of Counsel and the former Chair of Riker Danzig’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Group. His practice primarily involves bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters specializing in the representation of creditors and debtors in business reorganization cases under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Dennis has been involved in a number of major bankruptcy cases such as Frontier Communications, Inc., Murray Energy Corp., Bayonne Medical Center, Hudson healthcare, Inc. (“Hoboken University Medical Center”), Capmark Financial Corp., Majestic Casinos, Inc., Las Vegas Monorail, Encap Golf Holdings, Inc., and G-I Holdings, Inc. (f/k/a GAF Corporation).
Riker Danzig’s Bankruptcy Group is regularly recognized by a number of outside sources, including Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, for its substantial experience and creativity, along with its long-standing reputation that boasts effectiveness, communication, success and value.
Dennis is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy and commercial law issues and has been an adjunct Professor of Law at Rutgers University.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy Lawyers, as well as a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Business and Bankruptcy Section of the American Bar Association, the Business Reorganization Subcommittee of the American Bar Association, and Indenture Trustee Section, the Creditors’ Rights Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and the healthcare Insolvency Subcommittee of the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is also a former Director of the American Board of Professional Certification, as well as a former member of its faculty subcommittee, and he is a former Director of the New Jersey Turnaround Management Association, as well as a member of its Advisory Board.
