Law360 Pulse recently interviewed the Firm’s newest Counsel, Lori Schiraldi Delia, covering what drew her to Riker Danzig, as well as her prior experience as general counsel to a marketing agency. Lori joined the Firm on June 4, 2024 as Counsel in the Labor & Employment Group. "Its long standing reputation as one of the top and most well-respected firms in New Jersey drew me in," Lori told Law360. "Being on the other side of the table as an in-house lawyer, I also missed being in private practice, both in respect to the type of work and the environment of practicing at a firm."
Lori touched on artificial intelligence, noting it is one of many issues employers are facing in today’s world. "I’ve been closely following the permissible usage of AI in the workplace both by management and employees, particularly in certain industries as they draft policies about these new technologies," she said in the interview. "It’s such a new and developing area and it’s interesting to watch. It even impacts trademark work, figuring out whether or not AI is being recognized for the purposes of trademark protection. There’s many considerations to take into account before using AI to complete work."
Before joining Riker Danzig, Lori served 19 years as vice president and general counsel of a marketing firm handling not only employment and legal matters, but also helping to manage the business. "This gave me a unique perspective that I believe will help me better understand clients with their employment matters now," she said. "I think it has made me a stronger employment lawyer and it’s a perspective that I otherwise wouldn’t have gotten."
