Bio
Stephen P. Tasy is Counsel in the Firm’s Insurance and Reinsurance Group, where he counsels clients on insurance coverage as well as handling insurance litigation matters.
He brings a wealth of experience in the insurance industry from his career as senior counsel for multiple insurance companies, where he spent more than 35 years of his 40-year legal career. Before joining Riker Danzig, Stephen served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of the MSIG North America operations of Japan’s MS&AD Insurance Group, with responsibility for legal and corporate governance matters across the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
Stephen’s career also includes over 12 years with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, three of them as regional General Counsel for Chubb’s Asia-Pacific operations, based in Singapore. Earlier, he spent seven years handling complex insurance and civil rights litigation for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
Stephen earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and his B.A. in Economics and Government, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He is fluent in Italian and Spanish.
