Bio

Hunt S. Ricker is a Partner in the Firm’s Securities Litigation Group. He is a commercial litigator and has handled a wide variety of business disputes and commercial litigation issues.

Hunt has extensive experience representing broker-dealers and their employees in a broad range of matters, including sales practice arbitrations, employment disputes, subpoenas, and regulatory enforcement defense.

He routinely litigates before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) throughout the country and in both the state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York. His practice is focused on defending sales practice claims brought by customers against broker-dealers alleging violations of SEC/FINRA Rules, as well as claims for unsuitability, churning, unauthorized trading, failure to supervise, failure to follow instructions, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty.

Hunt also represents financial institutions and their employees in a variety of claims arising from employee movement and intra-industry transitions, including claims of raiding, anti-competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets and confidential information, as well as enforcement of non-compete and non-solicitation covenants. Hunt has appeared on emergent matters including enforcement of restrictive covenants and arbitration agreements in both state and federal courts. Hunt has also recovered millions of dollars for broker-dealers in employment-related matters, primarily arising from breaches of employment agreements.

In addition to his securities practice, Hunt routinely handles complex civil, business, and commercial disputes ranging from breach of contract to intellectual property disputes. He also focuses a portion of his practice representing digital asset and crypto companies and exchanges in litigation, as well as monitoring the advancement of securities regulation and litigation relating to cryptocurrencies, digital assets, and blockchain technology. His wide range of experience, coupled with his preparation and attention to detail, allow him to provide sound legal advice in a variety of business and commercial contexts.
