Bio
Jonathan Barrera is an Associate in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation and White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations Groups. He focuses his practice on litigation, investigations and white collar criminal defense.
Prior to joining Riker Danzig, Jonathan was a Senior Assistant Prosecutor for the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, where he was assigned to the Fatal Investigations Unit where he supervised homicide investigations and prosecuted individuals charged with serious violent crimes. Previously, he was an Assistant Prosecutor for the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office where he tried numerous cases involving drugs, weapons, and gang-related crimes, including homicides.
Jonathan received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2010. He received his B.S., summa cum laude, from St. John’s University in 2006, where he received the Phi Eta Sigma Scholarship and was inducted into the college’s honor society. Following law school, Jonathan served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Lourdes I. Santiago, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division, Hudson Vicinage.
Jonathan is an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he teaches Appellate Advocacy. He is Vice President of the Northern Region for the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey.
