Riker Danzig’s Products Liability team, led by Firm Co-Chair Kelly S. Crawford, was lauded by Law360 as a “Legal Lion of the Week” for our defense of long-time client Johnson & Johnson in a medical device case heard in the District of New Jersey. The plaintiff had sought to recover $3.5 million in damages for alleged permanent injuries from a pelvic mesh device manufactured by Ethicon, claiming negligent design defects. The case was tried before a jury, securing a defense verdict on May 3, 2023.
This is one of a number of favorable rulings our team has secured in multiple pelvic mesh cases pending in federal court, including dismissal of certain of plaintiffs’ claims and limitation of the scope of expert testimony of certain of Plaintiffs’ expert witnesses.
