Riker Danzig was delighted to host our second annual CLE Day for our in-house counsel clients and friends. Sessions on important Ethics Considerations for corporate counsel and the Data Privacy and Cyber Insurance landscape were led by seasoned Riker Danzig attorneys Stuart Lederman, Alexa Richman-LaLonde, Michael O’Mullan, Robert Vacchiano and Labinot Berlajolli.
Our final session was a robust panel presentation on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, co-moderated by Riker Danzig Diversity Committee Co-Chairs Jorge Sanchez and Hon. Travis Francis, with our impressive panel of Clifford Dawkins, Assistant Dean and Director of the Minority Student Program of Rutgers Law School; Christine Fitzgerald, Executive Director and Counsel, Employment Legal, Americas of UBS Group AG; Rippi Karda, Associate General Counsel of Verizon and Chair of the AAPI Commission; and Mari Marques-Thomas, Vice President of Impact & Belonging at Crum & Forster. Our panelists engaged in a free-flowing discussion on the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard decision, DEI messaging and terminology, measuring the impact of DEI programs, leadership commitment to DEI initiatives and demonstrating benefits, customer perception and risks and rewards. The lively conversation carried on during our closing cocktail reception, bringing together our in-house counsel guests, panelists, and Riker Danzig attorneys.
