Riker Danzig partners Michael P. O’Mullan (Commercial Litigation), Khaled J. Klele (Commercial Litigation and Healthcare), Charles B. McKenna and Ryan L. O’Neill (White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations) presented a CLE program for the Association of Corporate Counsel New Jersey as part of their annual conference, which was held virtually this year and spread across several weeks of programming. The panel was held on October 4, 2022 and titled “The ‘FCA’ Does Not Mean ‘Free Company Assets’: How to Protect Your Company from False Claims Act Claims and Investigations.” The program included insights from in-house counsel, current and former government attorneys and outside counsel to outline strategies for addressing potential exposure under the False Claims Act. Drawing on developments in the healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry, public contracting and other areas, the program included recent trends in the law, as well as how to effectively respond to a government investigation, address whistleblowers and retaliation liability, and defend civil and criminal litigation.
