January 4, 2024

Riker Danzig Of Counsel Travis L. Francis, former Assignment Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Middlesex County, has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey (“PDFNJ”).  Judge Francis is filling the position formerly held by Marc D’Angiolillo, a beloved Riker Danzig partner who passed away in September 2023.

Angelo Valente, the Executive Director of PDFNJ, stated, “Judge Francis’ appointment represents a continuation of the strong legacy and commitment embodied by his colleague Mr. D’Angiolillo.  His extensive experience in legal matters, particularly in areas that intersect closely with our mission, makes him an invaluable addition to our board. His commitment to public service will significantly contribute to our ongoing efforts to foster a drug-free environment in New Jersey.”

While on the bench, Judge Francis administered the precursor to the New Jersey Judiciary Drug Court Program.  A close colleague and friend of Marc D’Angiolillo, Judge Francis said, “I have long admired the mission of PDFNJ and the impact its work has in reducing substance abuse and changing lives.  I look forward to continuing to contribute in whatever way I can.”

Judge Francis joined Riker Danzig after 25 years on the bench.  He is a member of the Firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution, Commercial Litigation, and Insurance Groups, and serves on the Firm’s Diversity Committee.  In 2019, he was honored as a “Diverse Attorney of the Year” by the New Jersey Law Journal.
