Jeffrey B. Wagenbach is Partner and Co-Chair of the Firm’s Environmental Group.
Jeff’s practice covers a wide variety of areas, focusing on regulatory and transactional matters. He is frequently involved in litigation. He has developed a particular expertise in industrial site-recovery matters for guiding the process in a way that keeps the business goals in mind while addressing relevant regulatory issues. In addition, Jeff is well-known for his work on wetlands cases that involve historical sites and buildings that are protected by the national Historic Preservation Act.
Jeff represents Fortune 500 firms and medium-sized companies. His clients include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gerber Plumbing, Pramar Realty, and Organon International, Inc.
Jeff is active within the environmental law sections of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey Bar Association.
Since 2005, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has included Jeff in its Client’s Guide for Environmental Law, calling him “an experienced environmental lawyer” who is “excellent in dealing with the most complex issue” and stating that “his expertise is strongest in industrial site recovery and wetlands cases.” Chambers notes that Jeff “provides large companies with environmental advice in the context of corporate transactions, including regulatory compliance and remediation approaches.” The Client’s Guide also states that he is greatly valued for his “excellent negotiation skills.”
