Jaan M. Haus, an associate in Riker Danzig's Environmental Group, is experienced in environmental litigation, regulatory compliance and transactional matters. He represents clients in all aspects of site remediation and has particular knowledge of the Site Remediation Reform Act and the Licensed Site Remediation Professional program. In addition, he assists clients with the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate matters including drafting contract provisions, advising clients with regard to due diligence and obtaining environmental land use permits.
Jaan is also particularly experienced in assisting clients with procuring environmental insurance policies, which are often an effective means to address environmental issues that arise in connection with commercial transactions. In his litigation practice he counsels clients in complex state and federal environmental litigation matters, including CERCLA, the Spill Act and insurance recovery.
